Wilt Chamberlain 100-Point Game: 50 Years Later
50 years ago today Wilt Chamberlain scored 100-points for the Philadelphia Warriors in there win over the New York Knicks. The final score of that game 169-147 amazing right? You already know if there were highlights posted on youtube you already know I would of posted it. Wilt's 100-point game actually wasn't televised and there is know recollection of how Wilt scored his last two points. Even Wilt himself did not remember how he scored the last two points. One thing that is certain is Wilt did score 100-points.
Kobe Bryant is the closest player to come close to 100. Kobe scored 81-points against the Toronto Raptors back in 2006 and he believes that someday someone will break Wilt's record. Thats asking for a lot Kobe, but this is the same guy that said he never watched the footage of his 81-point game because it would make him sick to his stomach to watch all of the opportunities he missed that could of led to him breaking Wilt's record.
Nobody will probably ever break this record the game of basketball is so much more advanced now, but if you could pick one player to break Wilt's record who would it be? Kobe, Kevin Durant, LeBron? Who knows. Scoring 100-points was an amazing feat a feat that will live on for the rest of time.
