Chris Douglas-Roberts Featured in Edge Magazine
Currently playing in Italy for Virtus Bologna due to the NBA Lockout, CD-R made the decision to honor his contract with Virtus Bologna instead of returning to the NBA this season. Unlike most players that opted to return to there respective teams after the lockout CD-R continued to live by his trendsetting ways and follow his own path.
To some CD-R might come off as "misunderstood" but that is far from the case. I got the opportunity to met CD-R last year and he just comes off as the laid back type that isn't afraid to speak his mind. Call him whatever you want. He could care less.
Check Out a couple excerpts from the interview below:
Why do you think people perceive you in a negative light without getting the chance to know you first?
Chris Douglas Roberts: "People fear what they don’t understand, when teachers would ask me what I wanted to be, I’d say an NBA player"
How would you look at yourself from the outside?
CD-R: "I’d probably think I was unapproachable. I don’t know if I would like me or not. It’s natural for people to make assumptions. I don’t blame people for that. I intimidate people and I exude confidence—a lot of people don’t like that. I probably would turn the average person off… Plus I can be pretty hard-headed and stubborn."
On his fears.
CD-R: "I’m scared of two things: God and marriage.” “I really never use the word. It’s the least used word in my vocabulary. If people get married I think they should be forty or older when they do it… I mean it’s a beautiful thing, it’s just not for me”

Dean Martin x Action Bronson
It's been a while since I posted but Action Bronson released this mixtape about two days ago. It has to be the best mixtape I've heard since A$AP. His Ghostface flow is reminiscent of that 90's rap that every head has been longing for. 9-24-11 is the best on tape in my opinion. They sampled Dean Martin's Return to Me. All I say is heads turn when I drive by and the beat comes on. Download
NBA Trade: Bucks Warriors
The Golden State Warriors have agreed to trade Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown to the Milwaukee Bucks for Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson. The trade fills major needs for both teams as they make a final push towards the playoffs. The Bucks who lacked a scoring threat acquire a prolific scorer in Ellis who is averaging 21.9 points and 6 assist this season. Ellis will provide a much needed scoring boost for the Bucks. Golden State has been vying for a big man for many seasons and it's a shame they were forced to part with there best player for Bogut considering his injury history.
Bogut, a former number one overall draft pick in 2005 has dealt with injuries for his entire career. In fact he fractured his left ankle on January 25, and hasn't played since. Bogut also remembered for a horrific arm injury he sustained in 2010 when he crashed to the floor after attempting a breakaway dunk which dislocated his right elbow, sprained his right wrist and broke his right hand. The injury hampered him throughout the following season. Add the back problems that have hindered him throughout his career too. When healthy Bogut can be a serviceable center which is what Golden State is hoping for.
Stephen Jackson wanted out of Milwaukee and did not hide the fact that he was disgruntled. Bucks Head Coach Scott Skiles benched Jackson due to inconsistent play and off the court matters. Jackson was brought to Milwaukee during the off-season to be that prolific scorer the Bucks needed, it never materialized. I don't think Brandon Jennings will have any problem deferring to Ellis either, and maybe Jackson will have a resurgence in his second stint with the Warriors. Ekpe Udoh and Kwame Brown will add bench power for the Bucks, though Kwame Brown another former number onel pick is likely out out for the rest of the season with a chest injury. I thought the Warriors had high expectations for Udoh since he was drafted sixth overall in 2010 but only in his second season the Warriors included him in this trade.
Once Bogut gets back on the court we can determine which team got the edge in this trade. I don't believe there will be a clear cut winner because both teams filled a glaring need. Unless Bogut is unable to play this was good trade for both teams.

Best Dunk of the Season
Before you ask no this highlight does not feature Blake Griffin. Though it does feature another former dunk Champion. Gerald Green has been MIA for a couple of seasons but recently the New Jersey Nets gave Green a chance to prove to the league that he still has game. After watching him play in the D-League for the majority of the season I can tell he is more focused now then when he was in his early years with the Boston Celtics. One thing you can't doubt about Green is he has major talent and this play proves it.
To be able to catch a lob control the ball and still have the composure to windmill it, well until BG does that this is my dunk of the season.
Check out Gerald Green's insane windmill dunk props to MarShon Brooks with the perfect pass.

LeBron Shows off His Clutch Side & D-Wade Slams the Door on the Pacers

The Indiana Pacers had the game in there control until LeBron James went off in the 4th quarter. Yes the Pacers should of won the game but when you have the power weapons that Miami has, know win is ever safe until the clock hits triple zero. LeBron hit a big three that forced OT. Then hit another three to start the Heat rally in OT. On the final possession of OT LeBron deferred to Dwyane Wade, D-Wade dribbled down the clock and hit a jump shot over Paul George (Who actually fouled him but the refs let it slide) which gave the Heat a 93-91 win.
Has Miami finally found a winning formula for games that are close down the stretch? It seemed liked it last night. Critics want to "witness" LeBron taking over games at the end of the 4th quarter during the playoffs not a regular season game in March. When Miami Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra was asked "Who's gonna take the last shot?" his answer was "Whoever's open." Good answer, good answer.

MTV's Annual Hottest MC List 2012
Last month MTV revealed what they like to call there version of the top 10 hottest MC's in the Game list and to everyone's surprise it garnered major controversy throughout the hip-hop community. MTV based the list off impact, sales, lyrics, style and intangibles. So now I understand why Nicki Minaj made the list but can we honestly even consider her an MC anymore? Unless she went back to "Mixtape Nicki I can't understand how she cracked the top 10 let alone the top 5. The panel featured a group of hip-hop journalist aka MTV's "Brain Trust". Like any other top 10 list, MTV's faced a lot of scrutiny.
I can't argue with the top two. Even though Rick Ross did not release a studio album in 2011, he already had a huge following. His MMG label released a collaborative album "Self Made Vol. 1" he had huge commercial success in 2011. I'm On One featuring Drake & Lil Wayne, was also nominated for a Grammy this past year. Also you have to figure Ross is a major reason why two of his label mates Meek Mill and Wale made the list. Drake need I say more? I believe Drake is the most popular artist on this list by far (not counting Nicki Minaj). Drizzy dropped his sophomore album "Take Care" which debuted number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, which is now certified platinum. You can't really come up with an argument for those guys, so let's get into who was left off the list.
By no means is this a "Greatest Rappers Ever" list so there is no hard feelings if you don't make the list. MTV created this to give props to the MC's that had exceptional success the previous year. Someone I believe was inexplicably left off the list, actually I believe two MC's were left off the list that deserved to have a spot on it. First J. Cole over Meek Mill because Cole released an album. Meek Mill is an incredible artist and his highly anticipated debut studio album "Dreams and Nightmares" is slated to drop later this year but Cole already released a studio album. Cole World: The Sideline Story debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and Cole also received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Honors that I assumed should of had Cole ahead of Meek, Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa and Wale. I'm not saying those four artist don't deserve to be on the list I'm just giving credit were credit is due. Another artist that should be on the list and could probably care less if he is included or not is Fabolous. Loso continues to be one of the more popular MC's out right now and if you decide to show love to other fan favorites like Lil Wayne, Meek Mill and Wiz Khalifa. Fabolous deserves to get a spot on this list two. Even though he didn't release a studio album in 2011 he continued to show his face and stayed very relevant in 2011. Loso also blessed us with the third and final installment of his mixtape series "There Is No Competition 3: Death Comes in 3s" on Christmas Day nonetheless, which should of nabbed him a spot on the list. Loso's not sweating it so I guess I shouldn't either. At the end of the day I would replace Meek Mill and Wiz Khalifa with J. Cole and Fabolous.
After the top two MC's you might as well put numbers aside. The ranking is irrelevant to me every MC on the list in one way or the other deserved it. You can't knock Nicki's hustle, Kanye and Jay-Z released the monumental "Watch The Throne" album last year and are still going very strong. You already know Wayne is just gonna continue being well Wayne you never quite know what to expect from the unpredictable MC. When you get to the latter half of the list 7-10 I expect those MC's at the top of the list at this time next year. On that note I can't wait to see next year's list to see who will rise to the top, who will fall off and the unexpected MC's that make the list for the first time.
Check Out "MTV's Top Ten Hottest MC's List of 2012" Below:
1. Rick Ross
2. Drake
3. Kanye West
4. Nicki Minaj
5. Lil Wayne
6. Jay-Z
7.Meek Mill
8. Big Sean
9. Wiz Khalifa
10. Wale
Which other MC's do you think deserve a spot on MTV's List?
